I moved into a neighborhood close to yours 4 years ago. On moving day, I drove a moving van by your home on the way to mine and became curious about your unusual paint color, bubble gum pink. Initially I thought it might be a primer coat but as the years have gone by, it just stayed...pink.
|A pink house, don't you want to know the story too?|
I ponder the pink paint's purpose because I'm just sure there is one. Here are a some of the hair brained ideas I've imagined over the years.
Does a Mary Kay National Salesman of the Year live here?
Did you invent Pepto-Bismol?
Was there a neighborhood feud and the paint color is your revenge?
Did one of your family members lose or better yet, conquer cancer?
Is the paint color a promise kept, based on the outcome of a fulfilled prayer or dream?
Did somebody lose a bet and this is the consequence?
Maybe you just love pink, this most unconventional color choice for a suburban home or you simply want to stand out. If that's the case, good for you! I assume the family that chose this paint color isn't a shy group so I'm hoping you'll give me the chance to tell my tiny social media world your story.
You could respond "Mind your own damn business lady!" and I would respect that. But to be honest, I like to stand out and take chances myself, so I'm hoping you'll help extinguish my insatiable curiosity and share you story with me. I cannot be the first person who's asked about it, right?
Not only am I publishing the blog post, but I'm going to print it out and mail it to you, with a self-addressed, stamped envelope of course. I hope you recognize my good-natured inquiry and I look forward to hearing from you and updating my blog. I bet my readers (all 29 subscribers) would love the know the answer to this burning question as well.
My intent is not to invade your privacy. If I lived in your neighborhood, I would've already found a way to introduce myself and ask you about your fanciful house. My husband thinks I'm nuts and was surely hoping I wouldn't go through with this silly idea of mine. Some say why, I say why not?
